Life Options Group
Workshop
The Corporate/Organizational Group
Program
The
Life Options Group Workshop
is an educational experience that offers
participants a clear, concise, succinct,
yet comprehensive overview of their
current ideas about, and planning for,
their ultimate retirement lifestyle. It does not
assume any particular type of retirement
lifestyle, instead it serves
participants by helping them identify
and plan for new ways of living what can
only be termed their “dream,” whatever
that may be. The group workshop provides
a personal, practical, and relevant
self-portrait of the overall lifestyle
needs of persons who are contemplating a
transition from their current full time
work into some other lifestyle that they
themselves can be fully invested in
designing. This is the
"corporate/organizational group program"
because it brings vivid color to
retirement lifestyle issues that are
easily presented and discussed in groups
or in classroom settings. It is factual
and tangible, it is life structure
oriented and non-academic, it offers a
smorgasbord of sharply defined and
easily understood concepts. The
workshop is
designed to assist participants by
giving them the most accurate personal
data possible so participants can make
the best decisions and formulate the
most life-giving plans and has four
components:
1. The Assessment: The LifeOptions
Profile.
2. The Companion Book: What Color is
Your Retirement?
3. Lifestyle Insight & Involvement
Exercises
4. Powerful questions for specific goal
setting and “next steps”
1) The LifeOptions Profile
is a 99 question on-line assessment
instrument that covers 20 separate
lifestyle and attitudinal factors that
are arranged into six sub-sections, or
“life arenas.” The Profile is taken over
the internet and generates a 10 page
personal document that gives short
descriptions of each of the 20 factors
that are applicable to that particular
participant.
The purpose of the LifeOptions Profile
is to give the participant a clear,
well-ordered, and scaled overview of how
he/she compares to others in a similar
life circumstance regarding their
personal growth toward the life
transition we call retirement.
2)
What Color is Your Retirement: the
LifeOptions guidebook to discover, plan
and live your retirement dream.
This 170-page, proprietary book is
written by Richard P. Johnson, Ph.D.,
and used exclusively as an adjunct,
supportive document for the LifeOptions
Profile. What Color is Your
Retirement is divided into the same
20 factors organized into the same six
sections, or life arenas, and in the
same order as is the LifeOptions
Profile. The book is intended to involve
the participant deeper into the content
of the LifeOptions Profile in order to
maximize their educational and
motivational goals.
3) Lifestyle Insight & Involvement
Exercises Each of the 20 factors
have two “Insight & Involvement
Exercises” that serve to further
personalize and deepen the participant’s
understanding and attitudinal
penetration of the content of that
factor.
4) Powerful questions for specific
goal setting and
“next steps.” An integral part of
the LifeOptions Group Workshop is the list of
four “powerful questions” included for
each of the 20 factors covered in the
program. These powerful questions assist
you in discovering your own truth.
Powerful questions can help you become
very focused on you "next action steps."
